'I was very satisfied with Pack-Rat in my recent move from California to Tennessee with one of their 16 foot units. I just wish this option had been available to us during our many moves in the military. If you are going to move this is the way to go. They kept me appraised every step of the way either by email or a phone call. Overall I am very pleased with our move with Pack Rats very seamless! Also communications with them was excellent. Again this was not the fault of Pack Rats as the storage facility was very busy and that was the first time they could schedule p/u. It took a week to get them picked up after I called for pick up. The only issue I had was the pick up of the empty containers. Our HH goods come through in excellent condition with only very minor damage which I do not fault pack rats as this was more a problem with our packing and the folks who packed the container. Once we could move in the containers arrived on the agreed to date in excellent condition. Our containers spent the next 17 months in storage at there facility in Puyallup Wa while our new house was being built.

The containers were neat, clean and in good condition plus furniture blankets were provided and was the lock for the door which we were told to keep. We used a pack rat recommended company to pack our hh goods and they were outstanding. The containers arrived as scheduled and placed where I wanted them. Once contacted the costs were explained and reasonable and delivery was scheduled. Selected Pack Rats based on reviews, size, and having all metal containers. We moved from Gulf Shores Al to Poulsbo Wa in 2014. They were able to get them far enough up the driveways that we were able to still park behind the container.

The drivers at both locations were great. Arranging for delivery after I had a FL address was completely painless. While there were some hurried calls, the staff was able to make arrangements with the staff at the Richmond, VA location that worked for both of us. We had a few hiccups early on with the scheduling of the 2 containers - since my driveway could only take 1 at a time and it was during the heavy summer moving season. The containers being all metal, the support beams to the roof took up a lot less space. Having double swing-out doors rather than a roll-up door meant that more space near the door didn't have to be protected so that items didn't jam up the doors. When the containers were dropped off, we quickly found that they have more usable space within them.

When I called 1-800-PackRat, I was shocked to find that they could deliver 2 containers for less than what their competition could do for 1 container and they were throwing in free rental of 12 blankets per container. However, in moving from VA to FL, I found that company to be almost as expensive as a full-service mover. I had used another container company during a previous move.
